Red Velvet Cake w/ cream cheese frosting

Got some  cake mixes on sale last week.  So I made a red velvet cake since Im still not comfortable using red dye because it leaves too much of a stain.  But I did make cream cheese frosting from the scratch.  It wasnt sweet at all.
Here is a pic of the cake that my hubby cut.  I cut a little piece for me before that.  So he made a V piece for Violet.  Its pretty cool.
While the cake was baking, it was getting too hot in our place.  So the kids and I went to the backyard.  Posting big bro pushing little sister.  So cute watching them.  It blesses my heart.
